The Bible teaches that you are sinner
(Romans 3:23), who by nature and by choice, live in rebellion against God
(Romans 3:10-12). You have fallen short
of God’s standard of holiness. You
deserve God’s judgment, and you will be punished justly forever for your sin in
the presence of God’s holy wrath (Romans 6:23). However, the Bible
offers hope to sinners.
You can be forgiven for all your sin, but not because of anything
that you can do. Forgiveness cannot be
earned, rather it must be received as a gift of God’s grace (Ephesians
2:8-9). How is this possible?
The Bible proclaims the good news of Jesus.
Jesus,
the Son of God, became a man to keep the law of God perfectly on behalf of
sinners, so He provides perfect righteousness for the unrighteous sinner (2
Corinthians 5:21).
Jesus died on the cross and endured the wrath of
God that sinners deserved, so He provides perfect peace with God for the
rebellious sinner (Galatians 3:13-14, 1 Peter 3:18).
Jesus rose from the dead, so He provides
everlasting life for the sinner condemned to death (John 3:16; Romans 6:4-8).
We offer this good news, the gospel of
Jesus Christ, to you today knowing that by God’s grace you can repent of
sin and believe (Mark 1:15) that Jesus can save you from sin, despair,
rebellion, guilt and death.
This is the
message of the Bible that the church has proclaimed through the centuries. It is
a beautiful story of God’s love in saving sinners. Click the links below for some other ways of
